What is Coal Bed Methane ?

In Coal seam, coal matrix adsorbs methane exist inside earth that means absorbed gas formed methane lay on the surface of coal matrix in semi solid form as thin film, it has semi solid form because of pressure inside earth. Ground water exist at the layer of coal bed is the predominant factor for the pressure. Methane gas can be released from coal matrix surface by depressurizing the atmosphere that is pumping off the water to ground surface. The water is called CBM discharge water which will be sent to compressor station at the surface to separate water and methane gas. Important point here million liters of water will be pumped off rigorously and the water left after treatment is not pure that will contain undesirable dissolved chemical contents. That is likely to be deemed as “waste”
